  Ferchertne responds
71. "Is not the answer: hunting support,

72. arranging peace,

73. arranging the sentinels,

74. being a tribulation to young men,

75. celebrating art (science),

76. residing with a young king,35

77. folding the Boinne,36

78. pulling the ear of speech,37

79. applying the shield of satire,

80. sharing the wealth of wisdom,

81. raging with inspiration,

82. constructing the mind,

83. (display) the art of small poems,

84. arrange with clarity,

85. poetically strong stores,

86. make known the road,

87. placing gems,

88. through poetic composition, prepare science,

89. A question, young instructor, what is it that you undertake?"

Néde responds
90. "Is not the answer; the plain of people,

91. the mountain of youth,

92. Hunting age,

93. following a ruler,38

94. wander with the sick,

95. both candle and fire,

96. both battle and its horror,

97. the three sages of the sea,

98. all drops of silence,

99. all streams of knowledge,

100. Leader of the Stags, what is it that you undertake?"

Ferchertne responds
100. "The mountain of rank,

101. communion with science,

102. teaching the people knowledge,

103. the embrace of scrutiny,

104. the estuary of grace,

105. the festival of the boar,

106. inquire of new men,

107. slip beyond the hedge of death with great honor,

108. A question, my inquiring lad, what is the path to your knowledge?"

Néde responds
109. "Is it not; upon the white clear knowing,

110. upon the beard of the sea,

111. upon the acorns39 of the wood,

112. upon the back of a male ox,40

113. upon the brightness of the summer moon,

114. upon a yielding mother,

115. upon the dew of the Goddess,41

116. upon the scarcity of clothing,

117. upon the ford of the oven,

118. upon the thighs42 of a goodly abode.

119. Leader of the Stag, my senior, what tribute the path of your Knowledge?"
